Noel Gallagher says people should not hold their breath waiting for an Oasis reunion, even though there have been rumours of the band reuniting to mark the 20th anniversary of their first album, Definitely Maybe.
“Maybe people keep thinking if they say it, it will eventually happen. It’s not going to happen,” Noel told the U.K.’s TalkSport. “Unless they’re doing it without me . . . but without me it would be rubbish.”
Gallagher added: “One can never say never, because one might be skint. But I’ve got no intention. I’m not interested.”
Noel’s brother Liam Gallagher sounded a bit more optimistic at the Glastonbury festival this summer, saying a reunion might be possible if the “musical Gods want it to happen.”
Oasis split in 2009 due to the inability of Noel and Liam to get along. Noel went on to form his solo project the High Flying Birds, while Liam founded Beady Eye with former members of Oasis.
