A Perfect Circle has posted a live version of the song “The Hollow” online at Loudwire.com. The track is taken from A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo, the comprehensive boxed set that will be available as a now sold-out limited edition CD/DVD package and a digital release on November 26th. The set includes Stone And Echo, a full-length concert recorded and filmed on August 11th, 2011 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, as well as Trifecta, which contains the band’s complete discography — Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step andeMOTIVe — recorded live during a five-city run of three-night, full-album performances in 2010.
We asked guitarist and co-founder Billy Howerdel how he felt about the band’s early success now, looking back at it a decade later: “I was appreciative then, I’m certainly appreciative now of how everything came together — how all the forces came together and made it happen, and all the timing worked out, with the Nine Inch Nails tour, opening for them, and, you know, having key people at Virgin Records believe in us and ferociously campaign to market the band in the right way, and Maynard(James Keenan, singer)‘s reputation with Tool in place. . . everything just came together.”
- The physical boxed set, of which only 2,500 copies were made, also includes five lithographs with one autographed by Howerdel and Keenan, a custom sculpted resin frame designed by the band, a custom made guitar pick designed by Howerdel, and a custom-made media book featuring artwork and credits.
- Also included as bonus tracks are live versions of “By And Down,” the only new A Perfect Circle song recorded since 2003, the group’s cover of David Bowie‘s “Ashes To Ashes” and “Diary Of A Lovesong,” a mash-up of the Cure‘s “Love Song” and Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Diary Of A Madman.”
- In addition, A Perfect Circle is releasing a greatest hits package called Three Sixty on November 19th in both standard and deluxe formats. It will contain the exclusive studio version of “By and Down.”
