If you’re in Detroit on February 19th, you might want to partake in “A Night With Kid A,” a 10-course meal prepared by chef Kyle Hanley. Each course is designed to be paired with a track from Radiohead’s 2000 album, Kid A, and the menu also includes wine and cocktail pairings that were chosen based strictly on listening to the album.
Hanley told the Huffington Post that he had studied music before becoming a chef, and that he hears “textures and colors” when he listens to music. “Especially Radiohead, they are very textural. They are a very visceral band,” he said. “Most people put out CDs, and this is an actual album. One song flows into the next, and we kind of want to do the same thing with the courses.”
The album will be played while dinner is served in three seatings of 12 people each on February 19th at Detroit’s Elizabeth Theater at the Park Bar. Tickets are $125 in advance
