Foster The People frontman Mark Foster has posted a new video in which he discusses the band’s upcoming second album, Supermodel. The disc is less than two weeks away from its March 18th release date and follows up 2011’s debut, Torches. Foster told us a while back what his vision was for the new CD:
[‘There’s gonna be surprises around every corner. I think it’s gonna take a lot of left turns. You know, it’s gonna be really celebratory. a lot like our first record in the sense that we’re celebratory, but in a different way. I think there’s gonna be more grit, you know, and it’s gonna be extremely percussive.”]
- The first single from Supermodel, “Coming Of Age,” is a Top Five hit at Modern Rock radio.
- Torches featured the hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” which has sold five million downloads to make it the sixth largest-selling digital alternative song of all time.
- The group will play at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas next Friday (March 14th) and a gig in Toronto on March 21st before launching a spring North American tour on April 8th in Pomona, California.
