Chevelle has released a lyric video for “Take Out The Gunman,” the first single from the Chicago trio’s upcoming album, La Gargola. The band’s seventh studio effort is due out on April 1st and follows up 2011’s Hats Off To The Bull.
Drummer Sam Loeffler told us that this album turned out a little heavier, although the group didn’t plan it that way:
“Basically we went into the studio with the songs that were really inspiring us, and we wrote a bunch of songs and just kept working and working on ’em. It is a heavier record — I don’t necessarily think it’s the heaviest or heavier than anything that we’ve done. We ended up, you know, recording the 10 songs that were the ones we liked the best.”
- The disc was recorded in Pasadena, California instead of the band’s usual spot in their hometown of Chicago.
- The trio will head out on the road for a headlining tour with Middle Class Rut and Oh Brother, beginning on April 4th.
