- Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said, “(Dio’s) music is so much a part of what’s in Metallica’s DNA, the harder, edgier, blues-based hard rock from the ’70s. It was fairly effortless to put this together, because it’s something that we were all reared on.”

- Proceeds from sales of the album will go to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.
- Dio was one of the most influential heavy rock vocalists of his time, singing for Rainbow, Sabbath and his own self-named band in a career than spanned decades. He died of stomach cancer in 2010 at the age of 67.
