British duo Royal Blood will return to the U.S. for a short run of three live dates, including two in New York and one in Los Angeles. The band will also come back in August to perform at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festiva
Although Royal Blood follows in the two-piece tradition of bands like Local H, the White Stripes and the Black Keys, Kerr told us that he and Thatcher are not influenced by those acts:
“Our inspiration doesn’t necessarily draw from two-pieces. We draw influence quicker from bigger bands or four-pieces such as Led Zeppelin, Queens Of The Stone Age, the Foo Fighters, because we like that big sound. For us it was more about sounding bigger than two people, not like two people, so we found ourselves wanting to sound as big as a four-piece band even though there’s two of us.”
- The duo recently headlined a sold-out tour of the U.K. on its own and also played four packed shows at the South By Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas.
- Tickets for the three newly announced U.S. dates will be available this Friday (March 28th) at 9:00 a.m. local time.
- Royal Blood will return to the studio later this spring to put the finishing touches on their debut full-length album, due to be released before the end of the year.

May 12 – Brooklyn, NY – Glasslands
May 13 – New York, NY – Mercury Lounge
