The Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen has spoken with Rolling Stone about posing nude for the cover of the band’s second full-length album, Going To Hell. Momsen explained, “We’re all naked when we’re born. If you find it shocking, that’s your own perception.”
Momsen also used another famous naked album cover as an example, saying, “I don’t think John Lennon was trying to shock people when he was naked on Two Virgins. He was just trying to be as honest and raw as he could, and that’s what my intent is with nudity.”
- It may be hard to believe now, but the former Gossip Girl star once auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana that ended up going to Miley Cyrus. Momsen told us she had no regrets about that:
- “Well, it worked out in the long run for me, I think. I don’t know if the show would have been quite as successful if I was behind it. You know, as an actress you audition for so many things, so I’ve been on two trillion auditions that I don’t remember and that was just one of a million (laughs).”
- Going To Hell entered the Billboard album chart last week at Number Five, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release as first single “Heaven Knows” topped rock radio.
- The Pretty Reckless will next be seen performing at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards on April 23rd in Los Angeles.
