The Black Keys have released the official music video for “Fever,” the first single from the duo’s upcoming eighth album, Turn Blue. In the clip, frontman Dan Auerbach plays a televangelist, with drummer Patrick Carney watching from the sidelines and occasionally taking a drink. A phone number, 646-397-6172, flashes across the bottom of the screen the entire time, accompanied by the text “Call now!”
- Auerbach lip-syncs to the song as he preaches to a decidedly non-rock audience in the clip, although by the end he wins them over and the spirit possesses them all.
- Turn Blue comes out on May 13th and follows up the Keys’ 2011 offering, El Camino.
- The band will perform on the May 10th edition of NBC’s Saturday Night Live to promote the CD’s arrival.
- Meanwhile, the Keys have also unveiled another new song from Turn Blue, called “Bullet In The Brain,” as well as a 20-minute performance done earlier this week for the BBC.
