With one week to go before the album officially arrives in stores, the Black Keys are streaming their eighth studio effort, Turn Blue, in its entirety at iTunes. The disc comes out next Tuesday (May 13th) and follows up 2011’s El Camino, the first record from the duo to sell more than a million copies. Drummer Patrick Carney said recently about the Danger Mouse-produced set, “On this record, we let the songs breathe and explored moods, textures and sounds.”
- Frontman Dan Auerbach told us not long ago that he credits the Keys’ success to their sincerity:
- “I think we both sort of understand when something sounds soulful or kind of honest, I guess. Whether it’s like electronic music, rock and roll or whatever, we have an understanding and we have a similar idea about that kind of stuff, I think.”
- Last week, the Keys released the video for the album’s first official single, “Fever,” as well as the audio for another new track called “Bullet In The Brain” and a 20-minute performance done for the BBC.
- The band will perform on the May 10th edition of NBC’s Saturday Night Live to promote the CD’s arrival.
