Seether has premiered the video for “Words As Weapons,” the first single from the upcoming album Isolate & Medicate.
Frontman Shaun Morgan told us that the tune was partially inspired by the interaction he sees online these days:
“There’s a lot of online bullying and there’s a sort of anonymity that’s online and people saying mean things to each other. There seems to be like a real elevated level of nastiness towards each other and it just seems like, if they don’t have anything good to say, then why are they saying anything in the first place?”
- The clip was filmed in the historic Vasquez Rocks park north of Los Angeles and was influenced by French director Jean Cocteau‘s 1949 filmOrpheus.
- Seether also recently posted another new song, “Suffer It All,” as an instant download on iTunes.
- Isolate & Medicate, Seether’s fifth studio album, is set to arrive on July 1st. It follows up 2011’s Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray.
- The group just played England’s Download Festival over the weekend and will make its next U.S. appearance at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre for a show on the day of the new album’s release.
