Late last week (July 25th, 2014), the FBI arrested 32-year-old Jessica Leigh Robbins of Tampa for allegedly making threats to Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell and his family. The FBI say that Robbins made a number of threatening internet posts, posted videos alleging that Cornell plagiarized her own writings, claimed to be the mother of one of Cornell’s children and even called in a child abuse complaint against Cornell’s wife. Chris Cornell and his wife also believe that Robbins entered their Miami home last year – this after she drove almost seven hours to talk to the singer. In response, the Cornell’s have recently pulled their children out of New York public schools out of fear that the woman might hurt them.
Robbins has since posted the $50,000 bail, but a judge has ordered her to wear an ankle bracelet, stay offline, and she’s barred her from having any contact with the Cornell’s or his band. Shes’s also banned from going within 1,000 feet of Soundgarden’s Tampa show on August 11th.
