This is something that’s always really interested me. I love a great production at a concert..so much that I’ll go see just about any style of music, just to see how they pull off the entire stage show (lights/video/pyrotechnics etc). A great production can take a band or a song that doesn’t initially pop, and give them atmosphere. A great production can take a song that rips musically, and send the live experience over the top. The best productions I’ve ever seen have got to be Nine Inch Nails at Rogers Arena November 2013:
and Metallica at Rogers Arena August 2012:
But I’ve always wondered, ‘how do they come up with the concepts?’ Does the band have an idea that they bring to the table? or does it all come from the production guys? This article is a good insight into the whole world of how a huge production gets pulled off.
