It’s a furry, forbidden love story.
Faith No More’s Roddy Bottum has prepared a one-act opera called ‘Sasquatch: The Opera’ which will premiere next month in Brooklyn
According to Roddy, it tells the story of how the daughter of a family who offers “Bigfoot Tours” of their town runs away with a real yeti. It’s part folklore and part love story, the opera follows the demise of the family and a taboo love affair that blossoms in its aftermath.
When asked “why Bigfoot?!?!”, Roddy said his favorite characters are the “gentle giants” – “a misunderstood monster who it turns out is very sensitive and has a high intellect. It felt like Sasquatch could satisfy that really well. I’m moved by the big thug who has a heart of gold.”
‘Sasquatch: The Opera’ runs at the Brooklyn venue ‘Roulette’ on April 1st and 2nd. No Joke.
