The City of Vancouver has announced they will once again allow select restaurants to offer extended patio hours this year. Local establishments are now being encouraged to apply to keep their outdoor spaces open until 1a.m. from April 1st to October 31st. Right now there are 298 active large patios and 301 active small patios eligible to apply. The 1 a.m. closing time would be a one-hour extension from the midnight curfew imposed on 115 restaurant patios in Vancouver last year.
Venues interested in applying must have up-to-date insurance, all fees paid in full and no patio noise related complaints on file in the last 12 months in order to qualify – so remember to keep the noise levels down when hanging outside your favourite watering hole if you want to have some extra time there…. shhhhhhhhhh!
