The Hawaiian island of O’ahu is home to one incredible view of Honolulu. But to get there, you must earn the right; by climbing 4,000 terrifying, rickety stairs up a mountain. The likelihood of death (or at least litigious injury) is so great, it is technically illegal to climb.
The climb is called the Haiku Stairs or The Stairway to Heaven. They were originally built by the US Military in 1942 to access a radio antennae.
