As a young person living in Canada, I have a fond recollection of the soda pop brand Clearly Canadian.
Ahhh, delicious, sweet, fruity, sugar water that sounded vaguely healthy, what was not to love? Turns out the calories. Clearly Canadian had a rough end of life before finally declaring bankruptcy in 2010.
Enter American venture capitalist Robert R. Kahn. He purchased the brand and set to revive it by doing a Kickstarter-esque launch, asking fans to pre-purchase a case. When 25,000 cases are pre-ordered, production could begin. Huzzah! Market conditions were achieved and come August 2015, Clearly Canadian is back.
What was your favourite flavour? For me, it had to be peach!
