The Vancouver Canucks have traded goaltender Eddie Lack to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2015 third-round pick (66th overall) and a 2016 seventh-round pick.
Now that we’re Lack-less, Vancouver is left with Ryan Miller as the team’s starter and Jacob Markstrom as the backup.
Lack, 27, posted a record of 18-13-4 with a goals-against average of 2.45 and a save percentage .921 in 41 appearances.
It seems as thought the Canucks have started a bit of a goaltender trading tradition, as the team sent Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers last March (2014) and Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils at the 2013 NHL Draft.
Shortly after acquiring Lack, the Hurricanes traded goaltender Anton Khudobin to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman James Wisniewski. Lack will now team with Cam Ward in goal.
