In an interview with the New York Daily News, The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, had some thoughts to share. When talking about metal he said, “Millions are in love with Metallica and Black Sabbath. I just thought they were great jokes.”
Then the conversation turned to rap music, “What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.”
The article then said, he’d end the barbs with a wink…so maybe he was just having a little 71-year-old guy fun.

As you can imagine, the internet was non-to-pleased to have the Rolling Stones’ guitar player hacking on their favourite band or genre. Cue “old guy yells at cloud” Simpsons meme!
We could write a long and careful reply to Keith Richards dismissing ALL of rap, but this sums it up quite nicely… pic.twitter.com/XbE2Lp7lND

Keith Richards doesn’t like hip-hop? Well, I’m not a fan of drugged-out, wrinkly old relics that owe their career to James Brown so.

Keith Richards and my mom have the same opinion of rap music.

But you know, some people agreed with him. Like this guy, No Bull! He just tells like it is!
#KeithRichards two simple words: he’s right
