According the Province of British Columbia…8 is too young!
A mother in Terrace was leaving her 8-year-old at home unsupervised from after school at around 3PM till she returned home from work at 5PM. Her ex (the boy’s father) and a social worker objected and the case ended up in the BC Supreme Court. The court ruled that no matter how mature you think your child is…kids under 10 should not be left alone unsupervised.
