Her partner Tyler Olsen was there to catch the baby and cut him out of the amniotic sac with his pocket knife. Outstanding. He earns the CFOX “cut child from the amniotic sack at a remote rest stop in the North with a pocket knife” scouting badge.
Cait Vince and Tyler were on their way to Fort St. John from their home in Hudson’s Hope to give birth to their second child. During the 90km drive, things progressed quickly, so they pulled over at the Halfway River Lookout. A scenic rest stop renowned for it’s beautiful Peace River Valley views.
Cait’s partner Tyler laid her down on top of him, she gave birth to a little baby boy (named Augustus), and Tyler cut the baby from the amniotic sac!
