It’s a bonafide orca baby boom.
Puget Sound’s endangered J-Pod has been spotted with a new calf, born to a 38-year-old grandmother nicknamed “Princess Angeline”.
Michael Harris with the Pacific Whale Watching Association says that’s good news.
“She has two grand kids, so a very experienced mother, and a very experienced extended family of J-pod within the southern community. And she’s – he or she – is in great hands. So we’re very confident.”
