When I first heard about the “Piecaken” I knew I had to create one.
The piecaken is the dessert equivalent of the turducken. Food shoved into food for gluttonous reasons.
The Piecaken is a pie in a cake.

Any type of pie baked into any type of cake. From there… you can do multi-flavoured tiers.

Understandably, people are loving this concept.

I even baked one myself. I just HAD to try it. Here’s how it works… either make (I made mine) or buy a baked pie. You want to have this pie cooked and cooled, ready to eat. Now get a spring form cake pan and pour half a batch of cake batter into the bottom. Throw the pie on top. Then pour the rest of the batter on and around the pie.
Here’s the tricky part… you bake at 350 degrees but it’s gonna take a damn long time. Seriously. Like over an hour. Just keep checking on that baby every 20 minutes or so don’t be scared by how long it’s taking.
Once it cools, you frost that bad boy and BOOM. Piecaken.
Look @dustinwcollins @brittanyvanh @j_mang_ @jeremybaker I did it! The 2015 #piecaken Cherry Chocolate and 100% from scratch.
