Help rescue a rescuer. That’s the challenge North Shore rescue is issuing, as they work to help a fellow team member beat cancer.
34-year-old Jay Piggot was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer last week, which will prevent him to continue work while he gets treatment.
Piggot volunteers with the team’s helicopter crew as a SAR medic. He works as a paramedic, but because he’s technically a part-time employee he doesn’t have access to benefits or sick time.
