December 8th will forever be known as The Saddest Day In Rock n Roll because we lost two of our heroes. These weren’t just talented guys, they were the best, they were next level, they couldn’t be touched in their craft, and they weren’t taken from us because of something avoidable like drinking or drug use. What makes these two deaths particularly sad is the fact that these guys were violently taken from us by people who claimed to be us.
December 8th 1980, John Lennon was shot in the back outside of his apartment in NYC by a ‘fan’ named Mark David Chapman. He was 40 years old.
December 8th 2004, Dimebag Darrell was shot by a ‘fan’ while playing on stage at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio. He was 38 years old.
See what I mean? They were the best, and today is the saddest day in rock n roll 🙁
