Sonic celebrates his 25th anniversary with Sega Genesis this year, with the first Sonic game coming out in 1991.
I was raised on Sonic The Hedgehog. My sisters, my dad, and I would log countless hours playing that game. Here are a few of my memories from the early editions of the game.
Nothing in life was more terrifying than the music that played in underwater levels when you ran out of air. I needed anxiety meds practically to make it through those levels.
This bonus stage that I totally cheated on by using my suped up controller with a slow motion option.
This sweet zone that allowed you to ride discs like hoverboards around.
And the dreadfully frustrating situation at the end of this video that took me WAY too long to figure out.
With the anniversary, Sega released a new 25th anniversary logo for Sonic The Hedgehog (at the top of this post), and there are rumours that a new game is in store for 2016.
