In truly devastating news, our wait time for the next installment in the Star Wars franchise has been delayed by several months.
Disney and Lucasfilm have just announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally set for release May 26, 2017, is moving back seven months. The new debut will be on Dec. 15th, 2017!
The reason for the delay wasn’t immediately clear. The movie, which is picks up the story of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and villain Kylo Ren, was supposed to begin filming this month in the U.K.
There is some speculation that it is due to script re-writes, which could be good news. It means they’re perfecting it. Or muddling it up. One of the two.
Either way, the waiting just got longer.
