Welsh trio The Joy Formidable are back with new music in 2016. The follow up to 2013’s Wolf’s Law will be called Hitch and arrives on March 25th.
The also shared the first single, “The Last Thing on My Mind.” Lead singer Rhiannon Bryan describes the song; “It’s a song about freedom, about feeling alive & a part of that is about sexual liberation too, which is why we wanted to make a music video from the perspective of a heterosexual female gaze. It shows men in many forms, being free, being sexy, being watched, it’s beautiful and provocative and is some small attempt to re-address the existing imbalance of perspective and nudity in music videos.”
And let’s remember their 2011 jam “Whirring.” I always LOVED this 2011 performance for Seattle radio station KEXP.
