Elon Musk and Tesla are hard at work perfecting a $35,000 US electric car that will have a range of at least 200 miles (performance similar to their popular and more expensive Model S). The car brand will be unveiling *some* of the details and pictures at a car event in March, but as Elon Musk says more details will be revealed closer to the sale date in 2017.
Musk at an event in France said, “The first pictures of the Model 3 will be end of March. I am being a little coy here, we are not gonna show everything about the Model 3 until a lot closer to production time.”
Currently, one of the challenges of a good, affordable electric car is the battery. But Tesla is working on blasting out Lithium-ion batters at their Gigfactories. It is still a fluid process so we’ll get a few details on the Model 3 in March, but we’ll have to wait till 2017 to find out exactly what a mainstream electric car looks like.
Auto Express has what is known right now about the Tesla Model 3.
Now I just hope my blog post wasn’t deemed rude so that maybe one day I too can enjoy a fancy electric car.
Must be a slow news day if denying service to a super rude customer gets this much attention— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 3, 2016
