This summer marks the 25th anniversary of the Lollapalooza festival, and so many artists wanted to participate, that for the first time, the event has expanded to cover four days. Also, not surprisingly, it is shaping up to be a great lineup.
Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, LCD Soundsystem, Lana Del Rey and J. Cole have been announced as headliners. It is Radiohead’s second time headlining Lollapalooza, having previously blown everyone away at the Chicago event in 2008. Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining for a record-breaking fourth time this year. Their first appearance came in 1992 at the second-ever edition of the festival, and they were also there for the 2006 and 2012 editions. Both Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to release new albums in the coming months. While LCD Soundsystem played Lollapalooza in 2007, this is their first time headlining. The gig is part of their 2016 reunion tour.
Lollapalooza 2016 takes place July 28th–31st at Grant Park. The full lineup is expected to be announced on Tuesday, March 22nd, the same day that four-day passes are set to go on sale.
