We had a couple of huge power punches this weekend in sports. One from the most unlikely of places….baseball.
You’ll remember during last year’s Major League Baseball playoffs…. Jose Batista did the infamous bat flip after a clutch homerun.
That badass bat flip divided the world of baseball. Some people loved it…other more traditional baseball fans didn’t enjoy the showmanship. The Texas Rangers clearly hated it.
Last night, during Bautista’s final at bat late in the game they buried a 90-some-odd mph fastball in his ribs.
That pitch from Matt Bush put Bautista on first and heated up the atmosphere in Arlington, Texas.
The next series of plays had Jose Bautista going hard into second at Rougned Odor. It appears that Odor tried to throw at Bautista, no matter, Bautista’s slide was aggressive. That caused Odor and Bautista to get into and this power punch!
Wow. After that punch a bench clearing brawl happened with both teams clearing out onto the field.
If these two teams get a chance to meet again, it’ll be in the postseason.
