This weekend is Father’s Day and as has slowly become a tradition in my family, we’re off on a little adventure.
The Baker Tribe is off to Victoria. We scored a nice hotel room downtown at the Hotel Rialto, taking part in their “Car Free Day” on Sunday and checking out my friends in Acres of Lions. My wife Coral is amped on reconnecting with some of our favourite spots to eat! She sent me a list and I’m sharing it with you.
01) Deadbeetz Food Truck
Stop one will involve us tracking down the Deadbeetz Food truck for their classic burger which they serve up Aussie style…with a big ole beet slice. Delicious. Make sure you get a side of their fresh fried veggie chips and dip. YES!
02) Taco Justice
ANOTHER FOOD TRUCK! Yes…we like food trucks. Taco Justice is usually set up on Cook near Pandora…or it was when lived in Victoria. Coral’s fave is the belly-to-belly suplex. But their vegetarian options are dynamite. It was from my wife’s vegetarian friends that we learned of the legend of these yummy tacos. There is also a nice little playground tucked away on a side street behind the food truck. Great place to run the kids wild after tacos and pop.
03) Part and Parcel
Part and Parcel is a little bistro just outside of downtown in the Quadra Village. Basically Quadra and Hillside. Cute little shop…delicious food. Coral craves the Moroccan Fries all the time and we’ve found nothing like’em in Vancouver (yet!).
They also do these peanut butter sandwich cookie things….fufffffff.
if we had the time (and child care) we’d also for sure be hitting Brasserie L’eclole. It’s a bit of a production to eat there and taking kids just sounds horrendous, but if we were childfree… that’s our favourite favourite.
