This blog segment is about two things.
#1) Holding your hand and hopefully helping you discover a new song for your playlist each week.
#2) Seeing if we can’t keep it semi relevant to either what’s happened in the last week, or what’s about to happen in the next week…(let’s not be too sticky on that one).
After months of planning, preparation, and anticipation, we’ve finally arrived at the eve of the Pemberton Music Festival. As party people around the Lower Mainland pack their gear and party favours, there’s got to be some kind of soundtrack to get hyped up yes? I’m sure you’ve heard the big songs from each band a billion times, so I’ll do my best to introduce you to some of the songs that you don’t hear on the radio from the acts that’ll be crushing it this weekend.
The first song from Pearl Jam’s 1993 album Vs. Hopes were high after the success of Ten, and Pearl Jam let us know within seconds that there would be no disappointment.
Another album opener from the other big headliners of the festival. With this song, The Killers opened a door into a whole new era of ‘modern rock’.
Okay this is actually one of Die Antwoord’s more popular songs, but given the type of music, I’m assuming that plenty of CFOX listeners don’t know who they are. Trust me, they’re worth checking out!!
And one more time, this isn’t exactly in the wheelhouse of most CFOX people, but Bassnectar is a force to be reckoned with, and he will destroy the crowd for sure. This is a brand new song, so there’s a good chance it’ll be in his set this weekend.
Have fun at the festival, and don’t forget your condoms!!
