When I was snot-nosed kid growing up in the wilds of Coquitlam, me and my brothers wanted a Nintendo Entertainment System so bad. So we got a paper route delivering the Tri-City News, saved up about $200 and my old man took us to Bellis Fair Mall to buy a NES.
I guess I must be in that consumer strike zone because Nintendo announced today that they’ll be releasing a miniature 8-bit NES containing 30 classic titles. Oh man I hope one of the games is Dragon Warrior.
OK, no Dragon Warrior, but there are still a ton of great game. Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, Kid Icarus, Final Fantasy…Mario Bros of course. Not a bad list.
The old NES will sell for $59.99 and they’ll likely sell eleventy-billion of them at Christmas. Well done Mr. Nintendo, well done.
