No one really needs a new Spider-Man film at this point, but let’s hope to hell that now that Marvel is in charge they get it right and we can just be done with the constant re-telling and recasting of Aunt May.
The new film is being kept pretty much under lock and key (even the teaser shown at comic-con hasn’t surfaced online yet) but they have now officially revealed who the new villain will be, and who will be playing him.
Spidey go head to head with Tinkerer in the reboot – one of his oldest adversaries, going back to 1963.
He is a genius engineer, able to invent deadly gadgets and weapons and Michael Chernus, best known for his role as Piper’s brother, Cal, on Orange Is the New Black, will play him.
There are also rumours that Michael Keaton will play renowned Marvel villain The Vulture.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released 7 July 2017.
