I read this great story on Thrillist today that outlines all the natural ways you can manage your guts. They had this quote from Dr. Su Sachar, a board-certified gastroenterologist, “Food should always be your first line of treatment for any gastrointestinal problems.”
Thrillist breaks down some common problems, down there and the foods that can help you get right.
You need fiber! Apples, berries, nuts, dried plums and flaxseed will all come in clutch!
Problem: Gas and bloating
So, you’re that guy at the job site eh? Try fennel, oregano, peppermint or ginger. You might also have a more serious digestive problem and Thrillist says you might want to try an elimination diet or talking with your doctor.
Maybe you’re sick and it should probably sort it self out after it passes. But if not, fermented food…mmmmm kimchi! Soluble fiber is helpful. You’ll get that in peas and carrots. And we love bananas!
