The latest death hoax conspiracy involves Kurt Cobain and South America and comes courtesy the Daily Mail (must have been a slow night?).
So here’s the deal.
Four years ago, a Peruvian talent show called Yo Soy (translates to: ‘I Am’), featured a guy named Ramiro Saavedra, a singer who kind of (but not really) looks like Kurt Cobain, but can definitely SING like the late singer.
But that’s the whole point of the talent show. It’s for the average Joe who sounds/performs/sings exactly like a famous artist.
Skip forward 4 years later to last night (Sept 12, 2016), when the Daily Mail posted an article asking whether this existence of Ramiro’s clip meant Cobain was “actually ALIVE,” and that the Nirvana frontman had been faking it all this time and possibly even living in Peru.
The verified Nirvana Facebook page confirmed the singer’s death in a sarcastic post.
“It is true, Kurt is alive,” the post said. “He needed time to learn to play the guitar with his right hand. Finding left-handed guitars is not easy. We are so happy to have him back and forgive him for all of the sadness that we have held so deeply in our hearts.”
Here’s the video clip that started it all.
