After nearly four decades in Aussie hard rocking band AC/DC, Cliff Williams is retired.
Williams joined the group when he replaced Mark Evans in 1977. Williams was about to retire from music when the British musician’s friend told him that AC/DC was auditioning for a new bass player. He said the band was “outrageous.” After about four jam sessions the band chose him with Angus Young saying that his good looks would attract more female fans to the band. His first record with the group was ’78’s Powerage.
Aside from Angus, Cliff had been the longest serving member of AC/DC.
His favourite song to play is from Powrerage, “Down Payment Blues.” Now there is a song from the 70s that we can feel here in 2016 Vancouver.
