The Global Citizen Music Festival is an ongoing effort to end extreme poverty by 2030, as proposed by the United Nationals Sustainable Developmental Goals.
By contributing to charity acts on the website, including watching videos and signing petitions, people can get FREE tickets to the annual festival.
This year’s lineup spanned several musical genre’s with performances from Rihanna, Metallica and Major Lazer entertaining the crowds of people gathered at Central Park’s Great Lawn in New York City (yesterday – Saturday, September 24th).
Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Chris Martin from Coldplay joined forces last night for a surprise three-song set that included PJ’s ‘Nothingman’, Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, and Patti Smith’s ‘People Have The Power’ (you can watch them all below!).
This isn’t Vedder’s first appearance at the Global Citizen Music Festival either.
