The Canucks have jumped out to what may seem like an improbable 2-0 start! Some pundits have the Canucks finishing last. EA Sports NHL 17 simulation had our boys in Blue and Green finishing with a paltry 63 points. That’s bad.
Our season started maybe how the robots predicted. At home verse the Flames, Loui Eriksson missed a pass back to Gudbranson that ended in our net with the goalie pulled on a delayed call. The game remained 1-0 into the third period when the Sedins decided to take over and treat us to some old fashioned Sedinery.
This shift gets the 2.0 tag because we’ve seen this action before. But what was the first “The Shift?”
Here’s the Canucks dominating the Oilers in 2007.
And when I think of “The Shift” I think of this 2009 game against the Minnesota Wild. Sadly, it doesn’t end in a goal.
