The Killers followed up the massive success of their 2004 debut, Hot Fuss, with a record called Sam’s Town. The record took on more of blue collar rock swagger and the themes changed to stories of growing up off the strip in Las Vegas. When the album originally came out, Rolling Stone panned it with a 2/5 star review. But a few years later, readers of Rolling Stone would vote it as one of the most underrated albums of the decade.
For a ten year re-issue of the album, The Killers included a power ballad from the sessions called “Peace of Mind.” Big, classic rock sounding Killers cut.
Man, I did love some Sam’s Town songs… how about this single, “Read My Mind.”
This one is classic too. I still fire this song up at home from time-to-time.
