Remembrance Day is Friday, November 11th. You’ll be noticing folks wearing the red poppy on their coats and sweaters leading up to the ceremonies on November 11th. The poppy is an important fundraiser for the Royal Canadian Legion and shows that you remember.
I asked Fox rockers what they do to secure the poppy to their coat to keep it from falling off.
Some people said they substitute the pin. The Legion said you shouldn’t be messing with the actual poppy. But a Toronto Star article from 2014 quoted the official poppy wearing guidelines from the Legion. “It is undoubtedly better to wear a Poppy with a Canadian flag in the centre than not to wear a poppy at all.”
