Call out culture is running amok! This time, Ireland, the country, is calling out Vancouver’s Railtown Cafe for their (admittedly) brutal St. Paddy’s Day ad. The picture features a terrible pint of Guinness. I dunno, maybe it was done on purpose…like some sort of deep troll? Or Hipster ironic “we don’t actually care about St. Paddy’s Day”?
The Independent News in Ireland grabbed this screen grab the Railtown Cafe’s SWt. Paddy’s Day party.
The paper then gave us a serious tisk-tisking and admonished Railtown for this abomination.
The Independent wrote, “What would lure the punters into your place? A picture of a pint of Guinness with a dense, white, creamy foam? Or, one with a thin and watery head, that’s dribbling down the side of a glass?
The Vancouver cafe went with the latter. Sacrilegious when you consider that this here pint was being pushed to entice people into bars on the most sacred of Guinness-consuming days.
Treat it with the respect it deserves Canada.”
In Railtown’s defense, they took the international feedback and dropped an updated ad!
