The BottleRock Festival in the Napa Valley has a strict 10PM curfew…. but Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters…maaaaan, they were right in the middle of “Everlong” at 10PM.
The event organizes literally pulled the plug on Dave & Co. half way through their iconic jam. They didn’t stop them. They finished the song with the help of the thousands of people there to see them.
The San Francisco Chronicle said the event has a strict curfew because of residential noise complaints and has been shutting down at 10PM since 2013.
The paper did say Dave could have been more efficient with his time…spending large chunks yapping with the crowd (hey we like that!), noodling, singing Happy Birthday to his wife, and some fun covers like Tommy Tutone’s “867-5309/Jenny.”
They did have this most excellent quote form Dave Grohl. “How many people have never seen the Foo Fighters before?” he asked, eliciting a huge cheer from the audience that stretched as far as the eye could see on the grounds of the Napa Expo. “That’s cool. It’s been 22 years. Couldn’t get a sitter?”
