For some it was one of the best live performances ever. For others, they needed From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah to wash the soft, acoustic taste out of their mouths… or ears, I guess. It was one of Nirvana’s last televised performances and while we wouldn’t be able to buy the CD (or in my case the cassette) til November 1st, 1994, it first aired on MTV December 16th, 1993 and gave us probably the most raw glimpse of one of the biggest music icons on the planet just months before he died. He was vulnerable, insecure, funny, and on point. They did it in one take, played songs from every album but stuck to the ones that would work in the format, and played some unforgettable covers.
