I got in a discussion over the weekend with friends about our old classic favourite Christmas movies from when we were kids. So many I’ve forgotten about!
Remember Animaniacs’ Christmas? Garfield’s Christmas? THE RACCOONS?
I think we can all agree, though – if you saw them – that Christmas Eve on Sesame St. and Muppet Family Christmas are the MVP’s for classic holiday good times nostalgia.
Haven’t seen them? Let me sell you on them.
Muppet Family Christmas sees the Muppet gang, holidaying with the Sesame St. gang at the home where Fraggles live below. That’s right. A three way mashup. Hijinks ensues, obviously. Robin meets the Fraggles and learns that gifts don’t have to be big and flashy, the Swedish Chef tries to eat Big Bird, Miss Piggy gets stuck in a storm while Christmas Shopping, and Fozzie Bear makes friends with a funny snowman. It gets ya in the feels 100%.
Here’s the full movie:
Christmas Eve on Sesame St. is also gold. Big Bird stays up all night out in the cold, freezing just to find out how Santa gets down the chimney. Bert and Ernie try to find the perfect gifts for one another at Mr. Hoopers store in a classic retelling of ‘The Gift Of The Magi”. Cookie Monster tries to leave cookies out for Santa… and I think we ALL know how that goes! lol
Once again, here’s the whole movie. Enjoy!
