Lower Body Blitz'in

Workout -
Lower Body
Alarm went off at 5:20AM - I am determined to get to spin class despite the dark sky and wet weather.
I get there in time and am soo happy that I did.
Nicole is teaching spin class. High energy, loud music - I almost forget where I am as I totally feel this workout working.
Next up, upstairs to the training centre to see Jemal.
Upper Body.
We are upping all my weights. Chest press with free weights, shoulder press with free weights (this is KILLER for me!), rows (sit up straight and pinch your shoulders together), pull downs, pull ups (bend knees a bit), bench dips. Some ab work.
Times that all by 4 - WOW!!
Great workout TOTALLY felt it.
As I leave the gym the rain is falling like crazy but I feel GREAT!
Working out (properly) really helps you feel better when the weather ...

Jemal Jones is the best trainer in the world! I will shout that from the top of mountains.
But esp now when I am in a full on winter-esqe lull!

It has never been more important to have some one to check in with until now - the cold AM's that I'd rather press snooze and get a couple more hours of zzz's then face the rain and the gym.

But as soon as I get into Steve Nash SC, I am stoked. The energy in the gym just gets me pumped to get ready to workout. I am sooo glad that I did make it in!!

Jemal and I are switching up our training style for the next couple of weeks - lower body - Tuesday, upper body - Wednesday, all over - Thursday.

It is important to change it up every couple of weeks so that your body ...

Day 2 back at it.

OK woke up this morn to pouring rain and my legs most def feel worked form Jemal's butt kick, yesterday!

I am excited to be back at it despite my wet trek to the gym but as soon as I get in there my mood is lifted. There is something about seeing other people working hard that really pushes you farther.
Today it is abs and I am sorta scared - it has been two full weeks since our workouts and I know I am going to hurt.
Bright side - the more my abs hurt - the less my legs will!
Today's highlights: Russian twist on the ball - shoulders on ball, hips up and rotate shoulders with a weight plate out stretched in front of me.

Back to Being Schooled

Sept 8th.
Jemal is back from Vacay.
Man, did I miss our sessions!
We are getting back to our workouts 3x per week and I am so ready to get my butt kicked.
We start our exercises..One of them was: 3 sets of 15 of: lying on my back, legs up about 5 inches from the ground while pressing 15 pound free weights...that was just one of the sets I tackled today and I was feeling the weight right away.
I always get worried when I start feeling my arms as soon as I finish...I know that I will be FEELING it even more in the AM.
We have such a great workout...I am really looking forward to abs tomorrow.
Jemal is the best!!

Trainer vids

It's kinda sad that I am counting down the days for Jemal to be back from vacation next week! I miss our training.
I have been keeping busy with spin in the AM and just came back from at 1:15 class taught by Greg - AWESOME class.
Great music, tons of variety and I never looked at the clock once and it was done.
Before spin, I went in with Ryan, our web master, and we taped some new trainer vids with some of the awesome trainers at SN.
The cool thing about each trainer is that all have something different to offer, so if you call in and asked to be paired with a trainer you can totally pick one that best suits you. The videos should be up and running soon!
Back to school, back to routine, there is no better time to start - and to continue ...
