Chevelle kicks off a new round of tour dates on Thursday
(February 4th) in Erie, Pennsylvania as the Chicago-based trio continues
supporting its fifth album, 2008's Sci-Fi Crimes. The group is playing
the first three gigs on the schedule with Three Days Grace and
Flyleaf before striking out on its own with Sick Puppies and
Janus along as support. The tour is currently booked through February
27th.
The
latest single from Sci-Fi Crimes is called "Letter From A Thief." Despite
the title, singer and guitarist Pete Loeffler told us the song's not
about the May 2007 incident in which most of the band's gear was robbed outside
a Dallas concert venue: ["Yeah, it's not actually about that, but we did get
some gear, strangely enough, sent back to us from people buying it on the
street. So that's a pretty interesting thing. I actually did get a letter from a
thief. How strange is that? It was a bizarre thing too. It was kind of creepy."]
SOUNDCUE (:17 OC: . . . kind of creepy.)
