Metallica is rumored to be performing at this year's SummerSlam, World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) second-largest annual pay-per-view event after Wrestlemania. According to Blabbermouth, the event is set for August 19th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles -- not a far trip for the San Francisco-based heavy rockers, although they'll be touring farther north in Canada at the time.
Metallica are no strangers to SummerSlam or WWE: the track "St. Anger" was the theme song for 2003's SummerSlam, while "All Nightmare Long" was the theme song for the 2008 pay-per-view WWE event No Mercy. In addition, pro wrestler Triple H used the intro to "For Whom The Bell Tolls" in his WrestleMania XXVII entrance and "The Memory Remains" was used for the "Hell In A Cell" match between Triple H and Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVIII.
