99.3 The Fox is ready to the 2012 Fox Vancouver Seeds winners loose on the city at the Fox Vancouver Seeds Launch Party at the Commodore Ballroom on Saturday, September 8th. The most recognizable independent music promotion in the country, Fox Vancouver Seeds has had a rich 30-year history of supporting and promotingVancouver artists.
At the launch party, one of the winning bands , We Hunt Buffalo, Fields of Green and Static in The Stars will win the Fox Platinum award: A Canadian tour with Juno-Award winners Arkells with full tour support from 99.3 The Fox, $10,000 in new gear from Long & McQuade, record a new EP with famed music producer Garth Richardson, receive a demo recording deal with distribution from MapleMusic, and much more.
99.3 The Fox is extremely proud of our 3 winners of Fox Vancouver Seeds 2012, for what has been the best year of BC talent we have seen yet and would like to thank all of the 300+ bands that entered Fox Vancouver Seeds this year.
99.3 The Fox has a rich history of discovering and fostering some of Canada's biggest and brightest stars. Alumni for Fox Vancouver Seeds include Grammy nominated and JUNO award winning artists such as Nickelback, Bif Naked, State of Shock, Matt Good, Default, Faber Drive, and Daniel Wesley.
Also performing at this year’s Launch Party is special guest headliner Monster Truck.
Monster Truck was formed in 2009 by Jon Harvey (Bass & Lead vocals), Jeremy Widerman (Guitar & Vocals), Brandon Bliss (Organ & Vocals) and Steve Kiely (Drums & Vocals) as a side-project for their other more serious bands at the time. Quickly the original plan of getting wasted and playing giant rock tunes got twisted into something new entirely. The band took 2 years patiently crafting their live show to ensure that once they began touring they would have something unstoppable to bring to the table.
The band has quickly become known for their live show and their growing confidence on stage is now more apparent than ever. The band's recent tour opening for the legendary Slash has only furthered the band's understanding of where it all began while also putting them in front of an eager crowd looking to see what the Truck has to offer.
